We are pleased to learn that you have been directed to our Academy in your search and interest for safe and professional driving.
Here, at Pavel Jekov Academy for Safe and Professional Driving, we convey fundamental knowledge by applying a systematic procedure in order to aid the student in the acquisition of safe and professional driving. We believe our school to be of great benefit to the student in acquiring an esteemed skill set to an optimum degree of excellence in theory and in practice.
We believe that with the mandatory safety courses that are introduced to the student, it will aid to eliminate the occurrence of salvageable consequences that may be incurred to the company training vehicles. Needless to say, also, greatly reduce company costs.
The assurance of safety that is implicated is demonstrated to the highest degree of expertise in the daily driving exercises. We have a zero tolerance policy for life threatening incidents to the employee as well as the student, and tactfully we have been able to evade punitive conditions thus far.
With the methodology we teach our students; to properly attain economical driving, we are able to reduce fuel consumption by 20% .
Theoretical concepts that we teach in a 3 hour setting, which also consists of three parts, are as such:
a. Defensive driving (to avoid danger and risk)
b. Efficient driving (economically wise)
c. Correct exploitation of the vehicle while driving
A two –day training program is designed to implement safe and defensive driving skills, as follows:
1. Acquisition of specific techniques required for the proper handling of vehicle exploitation and comprehensive technical procedure.
2. The elimination of unsafe reflexes associated with “instinct”.
3. To recognize the response of the vehicle in the case of poor and ill adjusted vehicle controls.
4. Building of new reflexes and habits deemed necessary in gaining complete control of the vehicle on all road conditions and even those not leading to dangerous accidents, but not limited to, such as; snow, ice, sand, water or aquaplaning.
5. Appropriate position for safe driving and seat belt functions.
6. The passing of a vehicle; requires delicate maneuver which may encompass many hidden surprises.
7. Driver’s behavior toward a pedestrian.
Theory: (Illustrated by means of video.)
1. The body position required for full control of the vehicle.
2. Applied technique with the steering wheel to quickly react in an extreme situation.
3. Foot application with the gas pedal and brake.
4. The formation of proper reflex to gas and brake measure.
5. Artificial replica of dual clutch under low traction and slippery road conditions.
6. The under steering and over steering for low cars with single axel.
7. The changing of front and rear axle’s traction.
8. The distance, speed, braking time, and consequences.
9. Efficient driving skill set; encompasses: leveled driving, the use of proper gears for vehicle efficiency, attentive to tire pressure, mindful of speed, air conditioners, air filter and the mental state of the driver-efficient factors.
Practice:
1. Exercises for the steering wheel in effort to accommodate the rapid overtake of the vehicle, if suddenly one loses control.
2. Exercises for the foot pedal in efforts to always maintain traction.
3. Exercise for mastering the technique; ‘coupon watering’ with intermediate gas application when descending steep slope under the extreme braking in snowy, mud, ice, and other slippery road conditions.
4. Exercises on proper reaction when the vehicle goes into over steer mode.
5. Exercises on proper reaction when the vehicle goes into under steer mode.
The practices listed above, are held in a closed field setting which includes a special configuration of plastic safety cones designed for each exercise.
Upon the successful completion of the course and with an attained skill set, the accomplished student will receive a diploma in which the student is deemed specialized in the training of safe and defensive driving.
